This year Texas Summer Nights Productions celebrates the career of recently (but not fully) retired Rod Kennedy, the founder of the Kerrville Folk Festival. who has been instrumental in the Texas Music scene for over 50 years. Rod Kennedy is responsible for bringing more music and more musicians to the Texas area than any one person we can think of, and in his many years in the music business, he has helped to develop the careers of countless songwriters and musicians from all over the US and abroad. For over 30 years, Rod Kennedy and the Kerrville Music Festivals have given a home and a family to thousands of festival goers, and a stage and an ear to thousands of musicians who might not have been heard otherwise.

It would have taken a months worth of concerts (....or at least 18 days! ) to include all of the performers that wanted to play this show. But since we just have one night, we picked 7 performers that we know Rod loves, and that have been favorites of past folk festivals. We send these songs out in gratitude and appreciation for all of the labor and love that Rod Kennedy has give to the music over his lifetime, and we wish him all of the best in his retirement years.
