Texas Summer Nights is an on-going annual event that showcases the best of songwriters and musicians from around Texas and North America. This year we honor Champ Hood who passed away in November from cancer. Through his music and his life, Champ helped to make this world a better place to live in, for his friends and fans alike. Thanks, Champ.....His music will live on forever, and thanks to producers Brad Brobisky and Marvin Dykhuis, Champs' cd, Bon Haven, is now available for his fans and will be on sale in the back, or you can order it at http://www.southcongressrecords.com/champ.html
In 1996, Lyle Lovett , Willis Alan Ramsey and Allison Rogers came up with a song that celebrates non-Texans, and in particular, Uncle Walt's Band......Walter Hyatt, David Ball, & Champ Hood, who came to Texas from Spartanburg, South Carolina. This year, we're borrowing their song for our theme and honoring Champ and also showcasing 5 great non-Texan bands and musicians. We are also including honorary sets by Champs' band, The Troubadours, and his son Warrens' band, the South Austin Jug Band. We hope you enjoy the show!
