Nickel Creek w/ special guest The Ditty
Bops

Distinguished
by their youth and eclectic taste, Nickel
Creek became a word-of-mouth sensation on the progressive bluegrass
scene and soon found their appeal spreading beyond the genre's core audience.
Fueled by the guitar work of Sean
Watkins, the fiddle playing of Sara Watkins, his younger
sister, and the mandolin/banjo/bouzouki playing of Chris Thile,
the group has suddenly found themselves a favorite in the Americana scene
as well as the bluegrass scene. Touring in support of their latest CD,
"Why
Should the Fire Die", featuring the hit, "When in Rome", they'll
just be returning from a sold out tour in the UK. The
Ditty Bops open the show. Smoking only allowed in the beer garden for
this one. get

Shooter Jennings w/
special guest Carter Falco
*******************
Friday, March 24th
(tickets available at the door)
"Shooter" Jennings
lived his first few years in a crib on his parents' tour bus. By age five
he was playing drums, and he picked up his first guitar at age fourteen.
After spending seven years as a hard rocker with his group Stargunn, the
country in his soul beckoned to him, and in 2005, he released the critically
acclaimed CD, "Put the "O" Back in Country" . To Shooter, it's country
music the way it ought to be - alive with blood, thunder, spit and spirit,
with a big dose of Southern Soul. Come check it out. Tickets available
at the door only.

Fred Eaglesmith w/
special guest Butch Hancock

Canadian legend Fred Eaglesmith first came to Gruene Hall in 2001 and proved himself to a full house his first time out. Now with 30 years of relentless touring under his belt, he's earned scores of fans, all scattered about North America, Australia, and Europe. Fred is a Canadian rebel who has done things his own way. He has an amazing ability to pen a song, and his show, which is sometimes funny and other times painfully honest, is always entertaining.
Butch Hancock, a true Texas legend, played some of our very first Sunday afternoon shows in the early 80's, which became so popular that we had to invent what we now call the "middle stage", because the front room wouldn't hold the crowd anymore. Years later, Butch returned for several main stage gigs as a member of The Flatlanders (w/ Joe Ely and Jimmie Dale Gilmore), but now lives semi-reclusively in Terlingua with his family. Fred Eaglesmith and Butch Hancock are two of the most prolific songwriters around today, and although from two different countries, their words and music are amazingly similiar. Terri Hendrix
****************
Friday, March 31st
(tickets available at the door)
Terri Hendrix celebrates the 10th Anniversary of Wilory Records, her own record label on which she has released six studio albums and three live albums. By running her own label, she has been able to maintain diversity within her music, keep her grassroots following thriving, and achieve both financial and artistic freedom. Terri started off playing in Gruene Hall's front room, and through diligence, hard work, and intelligent decisions, has built a wide-spread audience of loyal followers. Her latest release, Celebrate the Difference, is a children's record that appeals to the older crowd too. With homespun charm and humor that fill her spirited live performances, Terri's shows attract both young and old, leaving all who attend inspired. Still backed by Lloyd Maines and a great band, this is one you don't want to miss! Tickets available at the door only.
