Adrienne Young & Little Sadie's latest album, The Art of Virtue, found itself at the top of the Americana Charts this year, and is  featured on Amazon.com's Best of 2005 list, alongside legends John Prine and Lucinda Williams. Tish Hinojosa  has recently released her first studio CD in five years titled "A Heart Wide Open". The disc includes twelve new songs all written by Tish. She returns to Gruene Hall for a rare Friday night free show on Dec. 9th (8 pm),  so come on out!    (no cover)

The South Austin Jug Band  are back at Gruene Hall for a Saturday afternoon of hot "new-grass" pickin'. The band's latest album, "Dark and Weary World" is creeping up the Americana Chart and is already a big hit with their hard core followers. Spawning from the state of Arizona, Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers are rockin' their way into Texas in a big way. Formerly of The Refreshments, Roger Clyne is a passionate, high energy songwriter and performer, earning him scores of fans and a huge loyal following. The band's website tracks hundreds of posting by fans that laud Clyne as one of the greatest, albeit unrecognized, songwriters of his generation. Their "Live at Billy Bob's Texas" cd was released in July 2005 and debuted in the top 10 of several Billboard charts. They make their Gruene Hall debut on Sunday, Dec. 11th,(5-8 pm). (no cover)

Having Slaid Cleaves drop by Gruene Hall is always a treat because he's just plain one of the best live acts that we have. His shows are always energetic, warm, and full of great original songs. Not to mention his fine and talented band! To make it even more special, Jon Randall, recent CMA award winner, will open the show for Slaid. Don't miss this one. You know her and you love her, Elana Fremermanis back in town with a very hot new band, which includes Beau Sample (Cave Catt Sammy) and Luke Hill on guitar. Originally from Hot Club of Cowtown and most recently from Bob Dylan's Touring Band, Elana is branching out on her own with her new band, Elana & The Hazard Boys, and we are here to help her get the word out. 17th Annual Christmas Along the Corridor - Holiday Pony Express
December 3rd,  10 am - 12 noon
Bring your Christmas cards to have the stamps hand-cancelled with Gruene's 2005 commemorative stamp at the temporary post office set up next to Gruene Outfitters.Pony Express riders from the Heritage Trail Ride Association will arrive at 10 am carrying a "Christmas Greeting" from the Governor of Texas, to be read by local Texas House Representative Carter Casteel.

Gruene Town Lighting
December 3rd at 6 pm
Gruene lights up for Christmas when Cowboy Kringle rides into town on horseback. Ring in the season with music by the Texas State University Student Brass Quintet. Afterwards, shop over 30 stores, cozy up to a fireplace for dinner at The Gristmill or head on over to the Hall for a cold beverage.
