Miranda Lambert, who finished third in the inaugural season of "Nashville Star", made her Gruene Hall debut opening for Charlie Robison in 2003.. It only took her a couple of years to come back on her own, this time with a major label behind her, and a new cd that debuted as the #1 country album in the nation. Still only 22 years old, Miranda has a long and promising career ahead of her. Come see her in the intimate atmosphere of Gruene Hall while you can!   Eli Young Band opens the show.  get tickets

On Saturday, Sept. 3rd (1-5 pm), Gruene Hall welcomes back The Greencards, who are fresh off their tour with Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan! Their great new cd, called "Weather and Water" is currently #7 on the Americana Charts and still climbing. Come catch their free show and get a signed copy for yourself!

Preceding The Great Divide and Cross Canadian Ragweed, The Red Dirt Rangers were the first of several bands to come out of Oklahoma who have their own brand of country-rock. They call it "red-dirt" music and it's similiar to "Texas" music, only with roots a little further north. The Rangers are glad to be back at Gruene Hall. In fact, 3 of them are glad to be anywhere, after a brush with death last year when the helicopter that they were riding in crashed into a river near Stillwater, OK...... You can read about it on the GalleyWinter site here. With their wounds mostly healed, they are back on the road and better than ever. Catch the Rangers at Gruene Hall on Sunday, Sept. 4th, 1-5 pm (no cover charge).

The Hacienda Brothers from San Diego, California stop by on Sept. 5th, (Labor Day),  from 1-5 pm - no cover charge. The 'brothers' include Chris Gaffney and Dave Gonzales, both headliners in their own right, who have put together a super group of musicians who play authentic country music. They've become a Gruene Hall favorite, so come on out!

Rodeney Crowell

Rodney Crowell........Saturday, Sept. 10th  get tickets

From Houston Texas, Rodney Crowell has proved himself to be one of the most prolific songwriters ever. After traveling the world as member of the Emmylou Harris band, Rodney honed his writing skills, and his writing success culminated in an album called Diamonds & Dirt, which spawned five consecutive Number One singles (all of them written by Crowell) and won a Grammy award. This album is just one of 20 albums that Crowell has released since 1978, and his 2005 release, "The Outsider" is as good or better than any of them, bordering on rock and Americana more than country this time, and with a political statement or two to boot. Tickets are going quick for this show, so get yours now.
