Guy
Forsyth
**********************
Friday, Aug. 11th
Making his first appearance at Gruene Hall in the early 90's with the vaudeville-ish acoustic band, The Asylum Street Spankers, Austin based guitarist, singer, interpreter and songwriter Guy Forsyth is undoubtably one of the most talented musicians in Texas. Now fronting his own band and backed by a solid rhythm section, Forsyth sings with passion and conviction, plays harmonica, and some smoldering guitar that's hot enough to raise the roof on the old dance hall. Come see him on Friday, Aug. 11th. Cover charge is $10 at the door. Visit our photo gallery to view Ann McClendon's photos from his Jan.1st appearance!

W.C.
Clark
******************
Sunday, Aug. 13th
Pictured here on a billboard advertising for Blue Cross/Blue Shield, WC gives new meaning to being on "billboard", The 3rd picture is W.C. w/ good friend Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Known as the "Godfather of Austin Blues", 67 year old W.C. Clark continues to dish out gritty blues and intoxicating soul music. He's penned some great original songs, and his take on songs by Delbert McClinton, John Hiatt, and Kim Wilson shows why he has gained world-renowned fame as one of the great blues players still on the scene today. It's been several years since WC played Gruene Hall, so come on out and give him a warm Central Texas "welcome back". This show is free to the public, courtesy of the folks at Gruene Hall!

Stoney
LaRue
***********************
Saturday, Aug. 19th
Stoney LaRue is from Taft, Texas but he spent the majority of his adolescence north of the Red River, where he was raised in Southeastern Oklahoma. Stoney seemed to understand the allure of music at an early age, recording his first "works" at age twelve. By 2002, he gained fan and industry attention with The Organic Boogie Band, and the release of his first CD, "Downtown". In 2005, Stoney released "The Red Dirt Album" which was his first solo effort. Many rivers have been crossed since then, and Stoney's vocal quality, as well as his ability to entertain a crowd, have helped estabish him as one of the top "Red Dirt" acts in the Texas music scene. Don't miss his Gruene Hall headlining debut on Aug. 19th. Tickets are only $8 and available at the door only. The Sidehill Gougers open the show.

"The Californian" is Bob's latest recording,
and is due out on
Aug. 8th. Come get yourself a copy of it at
his Gruene Hall show on Aug. 26th!

Winding the summer up.....
We've had some very special Monday night shows with The Heathens this summer. If you haven't been around to hear them yet, make sure you come out for their Monday night grand finale on Aug. 14th.
Two Ton Tuesdays are happening through Aug. 15th so don't hang up those dancing shoes yet!
Heybale finishes up their summer run on Aug. 26th. But by popular demand, we'll be having these guys back!
Erik Hokkanen blew our doors off with his high energy shows in the late 80's, and he's still one of the most talented and entertaining fiddle players that we've seen in these parts. You gotta see to believe! After a long hiatus, Erik returns to Gruene Hall on Aug. 27th to play our last Sunday afternoon of the summer season.
Check our website for times and cover charge information for these shows!
The 10th Annual KNBT Americana Music Jam
raised $55,000 for two local charities! Held
at Gruene Hall on May 21st, the Jam
benefited Texas CASA of Central
Texas, which builds local programs for advocates who accompany
abused and neglected children through the court system, and Connections
Individual Family Services, which provides services for individuals
and families to help nurture their growth and development.
Shown here (left to right) are KNBT's Jim Vance, Casa Board member Dick Martin, CASA advocate George Bal, Connections's Lead Program Consultant Sharon Taylor, Connection's Tammy Woodard, KNBT's Mattson Rainer, and Gruene Hall owners Mary Jane Nalley & Pat Molak.
There's loads of stuff to do in and around New Braunfels
this summer. Here's a few suggestions. Be sure and top it all off with
dinner in Gruene at the Gristmill
River Restaurant, and finish the night enjoying some great music at
Gruene
Hall!
