The Gourds - Sept. 12th.....Sat. Sept. 12th  (tickets at the door only)

Austin, Texas' The Gourds have never been much on sentiment. Since the band started defining Gourds Music, as it has come to be known, with Dem's Good Beeble in 1997 and the quirky Stadium Blitzer in 1998, they have chugged through America fueled by music and a near-pathological need for a good time. And while songwriters Kevin Russell and Jimmy Smith have written the most dense, reference-laden country songs of the last 10 years and almost single-handedly made a place for deep thought in a genre of "Honky Tonk Badonkadonks" they have, for the most part, shied away from the tear-in-my-beer ballads that made country music a commercial powerhouse over the last 50 years.  Read more about The Gourds here.
Tickets are available at the door only.  No Show Ponies open.   (tickets at the door only)

Hal Ketchum's Gruene Reunion
Hal Ketchum's 7th Annual Gruene Reunion

Hal Ketchum treks down to Gruene Hall for his 7th Annual Reunion on Sept. 19th. The "7th Annual"  refers to the time in his life when he decided that he always wanted to come back to the Hall, no matter how big that he had become, or how far he made it on the national scene. Gruene Hall was his beginning......he still has many local friends and he still likes to sit at the corner table in the front room and play dominoes. Ketchum's current release,  "Father Time" is the ninth album in a distinguished musical career that includes such indelible Top 10 hits as "Small Town Saturday Night," "Past The Point of Rescue," "Hearts Are Gonna Roll" and "Stay Forever." "For the man who has earned quotes such as "the most exquisite voice in country music" (USA Today) and "one hell of a storyteller" (the9513.com) ...who "couldn't write a bad song if he tried" (All Music Guide), he delivers one hell of an exquisite album that plays from first track to last like the work of a life time." .......He'll play songs off of "Father Time", and your old favorites as well.  This year Hal welcomes special guests Clay Mcclinton, (Delberts" son) who has a great voice of his own and writes killer songs, and Rob Roy Parnell, (little brother to Lee Roy Parnell,) who plays jumpin' country blues and is one of the state's top harmonica blowers. Get Tickets!

Adam Carroll is revered as one of the most prolific songwriters on the Texas music scene today. His vocal style and witty
songs evoke comparisons to John Prine, but it's his perseverance and refusal to adhere to any one genre of music that
has brought him well earned accolades since he first came on to the scene in 1999. Now a veteran songwriter himself,
Carroll comes to Gruene Hall on Tuesday nights in September to present some of HIS favorite songwriters. Come on
out and hear great original songs from Adam and friends!
Sept. 1st, 8th,15th, 20th &  29th.  (7-11pm.)
No cover charge!

Jason Eady CD Release
Jason Eady  - CD Release

Very good things come to those who wait. Mississippi native Jason Eady delivers some of those good things with his new CD. Titled, "When the Money's All Gone,", Eady covers southern Gospel stomps, New Orleans soul, and the heartbreaking tide of sin and redemption through his rich baritone voice and a raucous band. Produced by critically acclaimed songwriter, Kevin Welch, and released by Smith Music Group, the album comes as both a calming voice for the current times and as a timeless assortment of blue-eyed, southern soul music. Free show, 7-11 pm

Stewart Mann & The Statesboro Review
Stewart Mann & The Statesboro Review - CD Release

Stewart Mann found a home in  Austin after moving here from  Los Angeles, and he and The Statesboro Revue fit right in with the developing "Texas Southern Rock - Revisited" genre of Texas music.. He's got a voice that brings to mind other great singers like Tommy Malone (subdudes), and Ed Jurdi (Band of Heathens), and his songs are soulful rock songs that have mass appeal. "The Statesboro Revue is in the process of re-defining rock and roll, refusing to let blues and country, the real roots of rock music, fall by the wayside. Stewart and the Statesboro Revue are trying to remind America what rock music is really all about: soul. Mann's voice, songs, and band have that in spades." Andy Hertsch, Vail Daily News Free show, 7-11 pm

John Arthur Martinez - CD Release

With his highly anticipated release, "Purgatory Road", John Arthur Martinez has definitely earned himself an "A".  Purgatory Road is filled with the spiritual and creative energy of the Texas Hill Country, and musical influences that range from Dan Fogelberg  to Carlos Santana, to Asleep at the Wheel. After his second-place finish on the national TV show, "Nashville Star," Martinez garnered millions of fans, made his debut on the Grand Ole Opry and performed around the world with Dwight Yoakam, Todd Snider, Keith Urban, Randy Rogers, and many others. With Purgatory Road, Martinez says, his career is coming full-circle. Martinez brings to the center stage the songwriter part of singer-songwriter. The 11-track collection is filled with flowing melodies and the kind of lyrics that evoke past memories and pure emotion. Come get your copy at JAM's Gruene Hall CD-release show on Sunday, Sept. 20th.    Free show, 5-9 pm!
